“Magical Garden” concluded the first cycle of summer integration meetings

The first cycle of summer integration meetings ended with a special joint project — a “Magical Garden in a Pot”. The children combined their earlier creations into one composition and then used it as a starting point for a practical discussion about costs, the value of handmade work, saving and the first steps towards entrepreneurship.

The first cycle of summer integration meetings ended with a special joint project — the “Magical Garden in a Pot”. The children combined the creations made during earlier activities into one composition, producing a colourful and unique garden filled with their own ideas.

The compositions included polished minerals, beaded trees and other decorative elements prepared during previous workshops. Each detail served as a reminder of the different activities, shared work and new skills the children developed throughout the summer meetings.

Although the gardens already looked impressive, the children quickly noticed that they could continue improving them. In the future, they can add new decorations, rearrange the elements and create entirely new versions of their small magical worlds.

Can your own idea have value?

The main themes of the entire cycle were financial education, saving and making thoughtful decisions about money. During the final meeting, the children were also introduced to the basic meaning of the word “investment”.

The “Magical Garden” they had created became the starting point for the discussion. The children considered how much the materials had cost, how much work had gone into making the composition and what price a similar garden might be sold for.

Together, they searched for information, compared prices and completed simple calculations. This helped them understand that a handmade object can have not only artistic and personal value, but also a financial value.

Creativity, cooperation and first steps towards entrepreneurship

The results of the calculations made a strong impression on the children. They discovered that their own ideas, abilities and patient work could lead to the creation of something interesting and valuable.

The activities also showed that learning about money does not have to mean memorising difficult concepts. Financial topics can be explored through play, creative work and carrying out a personal project — from the first idea to the finished result.

We hope that taking part in the meetings will encourage the children to continue developing their interests, discovering their talents and confidently putting their own ideas into practice. For some participants, this may become the beginning of a future passion or their first inspiration to develop an entrepreneurial mindset.
