Residence, education and community involvement. INTEURO workshops for young people in Opatów

On 3 and 10 October, the School Complex in Opatów hosted INTEURO workshops on issues affecting young people from other countries. The sessions covered residence legalisation, education in Poland and opportunities to get involved in the work of community organisations.

The INTEURO consultant presented the project “INTEURO – Integration of Foreign Nationals in the Świętokrzyskie Voivodeship” and the work of the Integration Europe–East Association (SIEW). She encouraged young people to make use of the available support and join initiatives that help build relationships and enable active participation in local community life.

Residence and education – key issues for young people

Studying in a new country means getting to know the school system while also needing to understand residence matters. The workshops approached both topics from the perspective of young people from other countries. The sessions aimed to help them better understand issues relevant to their further education and everyday life in Poland.

Young people can help shape their local community

Encouraging community involvement was an important part of the sessions. The workshop format introduced young people to ways of getting involved in organisations such as the Integration Europe–East Association and projects that support integration.

Taking part in community initiatives can offer opportunities to meet people, develop skills, share experiences and put ideas into practice. Young people’s involvement helps shape activities that respond to their needs and interests. This was the kind of participation the INTEURO consultant encouraged during the meetings in Opatów.
