Painted with Thread – A Creative Encounter with Polish Tradition

Flowers, leaves and other botanical motifs inspired by Polish folk embroidery took shape on cotton tote bags. Using embroidery hoops, colourful embroidery floss and crochet thread, the participants gave everyday accessories a distinctive, personal touch.

Each woman could experiment with colours, stitches and the arrangement of patterns. Their shared inspiration led to a variety of designs, with room for individual ideas and creative freedom.

Folk Tradition in Everyday Life

The wealth of traditional patterns provided a starting point for learning embroidery techniques and exploring Polish handicrafts. The participants used folk motifs to decorate items they could use every day. This brought traditional craftsmanship together with a contemporary approach to fashion and making their own accessories.

Their work resulted in original, hand-embroidered bags. Alongside the satisfaction of completing their designs came inspiration to keep creating and developing their skills.

Embroidering Together and Sharing Experiences

The workshop also offered a space for conversation, sharing experiences and working together. The creative, welcoming atmosphere helped the women get to know one another and build relationships. The session combined discovering Polish tradition with bringing women together.

Thank you to all the participants for your ideas, enthusiasm and the time we shared!
