Young people explored the history of the Earth during an integration meeting at the Geopark

On 28 July 2026, young people taking part in integration meetings visited the Geopark, where they learned about the history of life on Earth and participated in a mineral polishing workshop. After returning, the participants also began creating decorative beaded trees.

Another integration meeting for young people in the Świętokrzyskie Voivodeship combined education, creative activity and the shared discovery of the extraordinary history of our planet. This time, the participants visited the Geopark, where they could learn what life on Earth looked like millions of years ago.

Although some of the young people had visited the site before, the guided tour enabled everyone to discover many new and fascinating facts. The presentation about ancient organisms, geological changes and traces preserved in rocks was not only interesting but also highly educational.

The visit provided an opportunity to ask questions, exchange ideas and explore the world beyond the framework of traditional classes. The young people participated in each part of the programme with great interest, combining learning with practical activities.

From a rough stone to a polished mineral

One of the most interesting parts of the meeting was a stone-polishing workshop. Each participant had the opportunity to complete the successive stages of processing a selected mineral independently.

The process consisted of three stages of grinding followed by final polishing. With patience and precision, an inconspicuous piece of stone gradually became a smooth and shiny mineral. The young people could keep their finished pieces and use them as part of the jointly created “magical garden”.

Beaded trees and shared creativity

After returning, the participants took part in another creative workshop. This time, they began making decorative trees from beads. Joining the small elements required concentration, patience and creativity, while also encouraging conversation and mutual support.

The finished trees will become special keepsakes from the integration meetings. Combined with the polished minerals, they will form interesting compositions that the young creators will be able to take home after completing the workshops.

Activities like these show that integration can take place through exploring the region together, learning, art and teamwork. Each meeting gives young people space to build relationships, develop their interests and gain new experiences in a friendly atmosphere.
