The INTEURO Senior Club as a small cinema – a shared screening of “Sami swoi”

On Wednesday, 13 May 2026, the INTEURO Senior Club meeting turned into a small film screening. Participants watched the legendary Polish comedy “Sami swoi” together – a film that has entertained generations for many years, while also reminding viewers of history, family, neighbourly relations and the things that bring people together.

On that day, we tried to create the atmosphere of a real cinema. Popcorn, nuts, cakes and tea were prepared for the seniors. The meeting took place in a very warm, relaxed and cheerful atmosphere, and watching the film together became an opportunity to take a break from everyday matters and return in memory to earlier times.

After the film, participants talked about how much our nations have in common – including ways of thinking, sense of humour, family relations and neighbourly bonds. For the seniors, it was also an interesting Polish language lesson, as the film included many words and expressions characteristic of earlier generations.

The screening of “Sami swoi” therefore proved to be not only a pleasant and joyful experience, but also an opportunity to discover a classic of Polish cinema and better understand Polish culture.

During the meeting, seniors could also benefit from additional support in the form of free document photos. This was important and practical assistance, especially for people who will be preparing documents related to their stay in Poland and need an up-to-date digital photograph. For many seniors in a difficult financial situation, such a cost may be a real burden.

The participants also discussed plans for the coming weeks. Seniors talked about future meetings and planned an interesting trip to the Mineral Museum and Święty Krzyż.
