INTEURO Senior Club integration trip – Święta Katarzyna and Święty Krzyż
Seniors from the INTEURO Senior Club set off on a special trip to some of the most beautiful places in the Świętokrzyskie Voivodeship. The programme included a visit to the Museum of Minerals and Fossils in Święta Katarzyna, sightseeing at the monastery on Święty Krzyż, a shared lunch and a walk surrounded by the landscapes of the Świętokrzyskie Mountains.
Travelling is always a wonderful opportunity not only to discover new places, but also to get to know one another better, find common interests and enjoy time together in a friendly atmosphere. That is why the next meeting of the INTEURO Senior Club took the form of an outdoor trip combining integration, education and shared leisure time.
The first stop on our route was the well-known Museum of Minerals and Fossils in Święta Katarzyna. A rich and very interesting programme awaited the participants. The seniors explored with great interest a unique collection of minerals, precious stones and fossils from different parts of the world, as well as from the Świętokrzyskie region.
During the museum visit, the participants also listened to a presentation on stone processing and polishing techniques. They could see how a raw stone is transformed into a beautiful pendant or another decorative item. At the end of this part of the visit, each senior was able to draw a surprise stone “for good luck”. This encounter with the extraordinary world of minerals brought many positive emotions, and after the tour the participants eagerly bought souvenirs and took their first commemorative photos.
The next stage of the trip was a visit to one of the most important places in the region – the monastery on Łysa Góra, known as Święty Krzyż. To make the trip comfortable for older participants, we planned a calm and unhurried pace of sightseeing. The participants could walk through the historic corridors of the monastery complex without haste, admire its architecture and feel the unique atmosphere of this historical place.
A very pleasant and important part of the trip was also a tasty, nourishing lunch in a cosy monastery restaurant. The seniors had time to rest, talk about what they had seen and enjoy the warm, friendly atmosphere.
The trip ended with a shared walk around the church. The beautiful views of the Świętokrzyskie Mountains created a perfect background for commemorative photos that will remind the participants of this joyful day for a long time.
This trip gave our seniors many vivid impressions, new knowledge and – most importantly – a sense of belonging to a strong and friendly community. Many more interesting events, excursions and valuable meetings are still ahead for the INTEURO Senior Club, which traditionally meets every Wednesday at 11:00 a.m.
