INTEURO in practice – students from Kielce’s “Słowak” learned cooperation and professional skills

On 25 May 2026, integration workshops for young people were held at the Juliusz Słowacki Secondary School in Kielce as part of the project “INTEURO – integration of foreigners in the Świętokrzyskie Voivodeship”.

The meeting was led by a cultural consultant, creating a space for conversation, cooperation and mutual understanding. The event brought together Polish students, foreign students and young people with experience of remigration. As a result, the workshops had not only an educational, but also a clearly integrative character.

The meeting focused on topics particularly important for young people: volunteering, professional activation and preparation for first job interviews. Participants discussed how to develop social competences, how to present their skills more effectively and how to cope with stress during a job interview.

Practical exercises and simulations of recruitment meetings were an important part of the workshops. The students had the opportunity to try themselves in situations similar to a real recruitment process, practise answering questions and better understand what a future employer may expect.

The intercultural integration aspect was of particular value. Participants exchanged experiences, talked about their activities related to volunteering and first professional experiences, and reflected together on the importance of openness, mutual respect and readiness to cooperate.

The workshops showed that diversity can be a great strength, and that cooperation between people from different backgrounds and countries helps build a community based on dialogue, understanding and mutual support. Such activities are an important element of youth integration and preparation for active participation in social and professional life.
