In the footsteps of dinosaurs and ancient Slavs – an integration trip for children to Bałtów

On 22 July 2026, a large group of Ukrainian children from Kielce took part in an educational integration trip to the Bałtów Tourist Complex. The programme combined learning about prehistory and the culture of the ancient Slavs with a visit to the wildlife park, attractions at JuraPark and time spent together.

A large and energetic group of Ukrainian children from Kielce set off on a special trip to Bałtów. The shared journey became a true kaleidoscope of new experiences, knowledge, fun and children’s smiles.

The main purpose of the trip was to explore the history and natural mysteries of the Świętokrzyskie region. The children discovered that places located relatively close to Kielce preserve extraordinary stories reaching back hundreds of millions of years.

The programme was designed to combine learning with active recreation. As a result, the participants not only gained new knowledge, but also had fun together, got to know one another better and built relationships in a friendly atmosphere.

A journey into a world from millions of years ago

One of the most important parts of the trip was exploring the region’s prehistoric past. The young explorers learned more about palaeontological discoveries, the distant Cambrian period and the times when dinosaurs lived on Earth.

Encountering such ancient natural history stimulated the children’s imaginations and encouraged them to ask questions. They could better understand how our planet has changed and how scientists reconstruct its past using fossils and traces preserved in rocks.

How did the ancient Slavs live?

The trip also included topics related to human history. The children learned about the everyday lives, customs and traditions of the ancient Slavs, discovering how they lived, worked and organised their communities.

It was an interesting opportunity to discuss shared roots, the interaction between cultures and the many elements of ancient traditions that can still be found in modern life.

Meeting the animals and having fun at JuraPark

The visit to the local wildlife park attracted great interest. The children could observe the animals, learn about their behaviour and see them in surroundings adapted to their needs.

There was also plenty of time for excitement and joyful fun. JuraPark’s attractions, shared games and recreational areas provided the participants with many positive experiences.

After a full day of discoveries and activities, the children returned home tired but very happy. The trip allowed them to expand their knowledge, relax, make new friends and experience the value of shared activities and mutual support.
