INTEURO in Sandomierz – strengthening the competencies of officials and teachers working with foreigners

The Association Integration Europe – East continues to implement activities aimed at enhancing the qualifications of professionals working with foreigners in the Świętokrzyskie Voivodeship.

As part of the project "INTEURO – Integration and Vocational Activation Programme for Foreigners in the Świętokrzyskie Voivodeship”, a new series of training sessions was organized for representatives of public institutions and the education sector. This time, the team visited the historic Town Hall and the School of Economics in Sandomierz.

On March 25, 2025, thanks to the hospitality of the Sandomierz Town Hall, a training session was held for local officials and public safety officers from the Sandomierz district, who regularly work with individuals of foreign origin. The session was led by legal counsel Mr. Łukasz Chlebny, who covered key legal aspects related to residence legalization, employment, and healthcare access for foreigners in Poland. Participants represented the municipalities of Sandomierz, Zawichost, Klimontów, Dwikozy, Wilczyce, and Koprzywnica.

Simultaneously, thanks to the support of the management of the School of Economics in Sandomierz, a training workshop was held for the school’s teaching staff. The psychological training, conducted by Dr. Katarzyna Krzystanek, focused on methods for supporting students with migrant backgrounds. The school currently educates nearly one hundred foreign students – mostly from Ukraine.

Both training sessions were carried out as part of the “INTEURO” project, which aims to support the social and professional integration of foreigners through educational, psychological, and advisory activities. Trainings, Polish language courses, tutoring for schoolchildren, and expert support for officials and educators contribute to building a more open, competent, and empathetic institutional environment that facilitates integration.

We would like to extend our sincere thanks to the Mayor of Sandomierz and to the management and staff of the School of Economics for generously providing training facilities and for their organizational support.

We warmly invite other institutions – including public offices and schools in the Świętokrzyskie region – to collaborate with us in building competencies related to the integration of foreigners. We are happy to organize further training sessions in other districts.

This initiative is implemented within the framework of the “INTEURO – Integration and Vocational Activation Programme for Foreigners in the Świętokrzyskie Voivodeship”, co-financed by the European Funds for Świętokrzyskie 2021–2027.
