Good news has reached us from across the Ukrainian border. Humanitarian aid, supported by our Association, has already reached injured patients in the Donetsk and Kharkiv regions. We would like to thank all those who supported our action, on our own behalf and on behalf of the doctors and patients from the Stabilisation Points in the aforementioned regions.
And it all started with...
Liudmyla Yurchenko - a SIEW volunteer came up with the initiative to organize a collection of basic clothing for Ukrainian medical units treating wounded soldiers. Indeed, these units face not only a shortage of medicines and medical equipment, but mainly a shortage of basic necessities - such as underwear for patients.
With the help of Katarzyna Perdzynska-Zarzeczny from the City Hall in Kielce, the City Centre for Family Support in Kielce and the partner organisation Podilska Hromada from Vinnitsa in Ukraine, it was possible to organize a collection of clothing (several hundred items: underwear, T-shirts, etc.) and deliver parcels to Ukraine.
As the Association Integration Europe East has received official thanks from patients and doctors from the Stabilisation Points from the Donetsk and Kharkiv regions, it is a pleasure to pass them on to all those who joined the campaign.
