Modern Tools in Working with Foreigners – Training Sessions in the Świętokrzyskie Voivodeship

New training sessions for staff and teachers working with foreigners in the Świętokrzyskie Voivodeship.

In recent weeks, the Świętokrzyskie Voivodeship has become a hub for intensive training sessions aimed at teachers and staff of institutions that support foreigners. As part of the INTEURO - Integration and Employment Activation Program for Foreigners in the Świętokrzyskie Voivodeship, five training sessions were held to enhance participants' qualifications in working with children and adults from other countries.

Training sessions for teachers working with foreign children were particularly distinctive, focusing on the practical aspects of working in a culturally diverse environment. On November 19, 2024, in Opatów, an engaging session at General School No. 1 brought together 30 participants who explored methods of psychological support and the adaptation of students in Polish schools. A few weeks later, on December 3, in the intimate setting of Primary School No. 1 in Kielce, 10 teachers discussed individualized approaches to working with foreign students. On December 4 in Pińczów, 24 participants took part in workshops dedicated to cultural integration in the educational process.

Equally notable were the training sessions targeting staff of institutions and organizations working with third-country nationals. On the same day, December 4, at the Poviat Labor Office in Pińczów, 15 participants delved into topics related to the employment activation of adult foreigners. Meanwhile, on December 11 in Włoszczowa, a training session hosted at the Poviat Office was attended by 19 people and focused on methods of working with adults learning Polish and their professional adaptation.

The training sessions were prepared with a focus on addressing current challenges related to migration and multiculturalism in the region. Each session combined theory with practice, allowing participants to gain new competencies and exchange experiences with other professionals. According to the organizers, the project's goal is not only to provide educational support but also to foster a positive environment for intercultural cooperation.

Preparing teachers to work with foreign children is crucial, especially in the context of the large group of students from Ukraine who have arrived in Poland due to the war. Properly trained educators can not only ensure effective learning but also create a safe and welcoming atmosphere, which is essential for cultural integration and the emotional well-being of these children.

At the same time, investing in training for the staff of institutions and organizations supporting third-country nationals is highly beneficial. These staff members are often the first point of contact for foreigners, and their skills significantly impact the quality of initial interactions as well as the effectiveness of integration and activation processes.

The training sessions were organized by the Integration Europe-East Association, which has been running the INTEURO Center for Foreigners' Integration in Kielce at 78A Sienkiewicza Street since 2019.
