UKR status revoked? Next steps: what to do | INTEURO Podcast #4

What should you do if your previously granted UKR status is revoked? In the fourth episode of the INTEURO podcast, we discuss the first steps towards clarifying your situation, the possibility of applying to have your status restored, and other routes to legal residence and employment in Poland.

We continue our discussion of legal residence in Poland. This time, we look at the situation described in the recording, in which UKR status is revoked following a further check by the Polish Border Guard and the invalidation of the previously accepted evacuation-related purpose of entry into Poland. The episode is intended primarily for Ukrainian citizens affected by this situation.

Topics covered in the episode include:

  • the revocation of previously granted UKR status following a further check by the Polish Border Guard,
  • the significance of invalidating the evacuation-related purpose of entry into Poland,
  • the first steps towards clarifying your situation and protecting your rights,
  • issues relating to filing appeals and submitting written requests to the relevant state authorities,
  • the possibility of applying to have UKR status restored,
  • alternative routes to legal residence and employment in Poland.

In this episode:

what to do after losing previously granted UKR status, whom to contact about having it restored, and which other options for securing legal residence are worth exploring.

We highlight the need to establish why the status was revoked and identify the steps available in each individual case. We discuss contacting the Polish Border Guard and the relevant public authorities, as well as protecting the rights of the person affected by the change in status.

We also discuss other routes to legal residence and employment. The options available depend on individual circumstances, so it is worth exploring them with someone who provides advice to foreign nationals.
